Riverton Town Days Rodeo
It's time to get your rodeo on. The 3-Man Arena Sorting Competition and Riverton Rodeo start off the Town Days activities each year. And both are events you don’t want to miss.
Rodeo tickets will go on sale Tuesday, May 2, 2018. Tickets can be purchased online or at City Hall at the Parks and Recreation desk for Friday and Saturday. $8/ticket per person, per day. You may also purchase them at the arena the night of the rodeo, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Seats are limited, so get your tickets early.

Your rodeo experience is made even better this year with the addition of a mechanical bull, presented by Buck Wild and pony rides brought you by The Farm of Gardner Village Farm & Petting Zoo. All ages may participate. Cost is $2 a ride or three rides for $5. Tickets are purchased each night at the rodeo ticket booth. Rides begin at 6:30. The Petting Zoo is free of charge.
Pre-entertainment at the Riverton Rodeo
Get to the arena early to listen to some great music. Beginning Friday night, entertainment begins as doors open at 6:30 p.m. Let's welcome our own Riverton resident, Jhonny K perform with some of his band, "The Krew" perform acoustically. The Krew is a Southern Rock/Country rock band that have been together for 6 years collectively. When they perform live they bring feel good high energy original music with a mix of favorite cover tunes for people to sing along with.
They have done two studio albums including the Award Winning album "Long Way Home" They have performed for UPROAR Rock Festival, First annual SLC Comic Con, Ogden Valley Balloon Festival 2016, Riverton Town Days 2016, Sundance 2012-2015 at the HP events and their songs SET ME FREE and WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR were featured on FOX Sports MLB Broadcast.
Saturday evening, come and enjoy the sounds of Bluegrass Thunder. Starts at 6:30, ending at 7:30 p.m.
Bluegrass Thunder is all about music and fun. Started in 1985 as an accompanying bluegrass band the the National Clogging Champions Cloggers West, they spent each summer touring Europe at folk dance festivals delighting European audiences with American Folk music. Crowds excitedly cheered on their American music including Oh Susannah, Ragtime Annie, and the always-requested fast paced Orange Blossom Special.
In 1996, the group became its own touring groups and has spent the past several years touring the Intermountain West performing at shows. From its initial group of 5, the group has transitioned into the band seen today with 7 members strong including the fiddle, guitars, drums, bass, mandolin, and banjo.
Bluegrass Thunder features music styles from Bluegrass to old cowboy songs. Patriotic and Country both new and old, as well as exciting new songs and don't forget about the comedy. Bluegrass Thunder is one of the most requested shows at summer concerts in Utah. They are the feature group in Orem's Concert series and will be featured in Orem's July 24th concert. Saratoga Springs's Summer Splash features the band on their big day, and Pleasant Grove features the band on the special 4th of July concert.
This year, the band will also be featured with National Clogging Champions Rocky Mtn Express in the Temple Square concert series as well as the Springville World Folkfest and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Summer Celebration.
A show like no other, you won't want to miss amazing harmonies of songs you know and love, the exciting toe-tapping songs you can't get enough of, and enough laughs to bring the house down, Bluegrass Thunder is the show to see!
