Just you and I - Daddy Daughter Date Night

Come join us for our fourth annual Valentine's Day themed night for dads and their daughters. There will be dinner, dessert, dancing, pictures and parting gifts for each girl. Best dress please!

Game Night

Riverton City is hosting a FREE game night sponsored by Fongo Bongo Games! We are in a board game renaissance due to new, innovative games. The old games like Monopoly and Sorry aren't games, just exercise in repetition and tests of your patience. Come experience modern board games with less randomness, more strategy, and choices that matter! All ages are welcome to have fun together.

Goin' Green Recycle Day

Riverton City is offering a free recycle day! Bring all your glass, paper, electronics, and car seats that you would like to recycle. We will also have paper shredding available from 5-7pm at both locations.

Riverton Heritage Tour

General Information:

As part of the Sesquicentennial Celebration activities this year, Riverton City is hosting a “Night in the Cemetery” on Monday May 18, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the Riverton City Cemetery located on 13200 South and 1500 West.

We will feature a brief life sketch of 13 early settlers of Riverton and how they helped shape our community. Actors in period clothing will portrait these early settlers and briefly tell their story in 1st person. Families will move from actor to actor to learn about early Riverton and gain a better understanding of the lives and experiences of those who have gone before.

Refreshments will be provided.

Movies in the Park!

FREE! Bring your blankets and enjoy a summer evening with family & friends. We ask people with chairs to sit towards the back. All movies will start at DUSKweather permitting. Movies will be located on the event lawn at the Riverton City Main Park (1452 W 12600S).

Volunteer Sports Day

This will be a fun-filled evening for kids to try out a new sport and/or show off their athletic abilities. Representatives from all volunteer sports organizations through the city will be running drills/games for their sport. The sports will include baseball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, & football.

Riverton Main Park Grand Opening

The New Riverton City Park Opens with The Osmonds, Alex Boyé & Much More!

As part of the official grand-opening extravaganza for the new Riverton City Park on June 22, 2015, Riverton residents will be treated to a fantastic free event featuring The Osmonds, Alex Boyé, the Riverton Children’s Choir, the Riverton Jazz Band and additional RHS performing groups! Country Music Artist and Motivational Speaker Nathan Osmond will serve as the Master of Ceremonies on this extraordinary night, celebrating 150 years of Riverton City’s heritage and growing success.

Shuttled parking from Riverton High School throughout the event. (12476 S. Silverwolf Way)

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. on June 22 at the new park for community members to begin experiencing the extraordinary reconstruction that includes:

·         Sand Volleyball

·         5 Acres of Open Lawn

·         Basketball Courts

·         3 Playgrounds

·         2 Tennis Courts

·         3 Exercise Stations

·         4 Pickleball Courts

·         2 Outdoor Pavilions

·         Splash Pad (Opens June 29)

·         The Old Dome Meeting Hall  Indoor Pavilion (Opens June 24)

Food vendors and special activities will be available throughout the afternoon. Then, at 7:30 p.m., attendees will want to secure their spot on the open lawn with blankets and chairs to watch the spectacular concert event, produced by O2 Productions, and view the amazing concluding fireworks display.

Riverton Park Splash Pad Opening

Come over and splash around with us for the opening of the Riverton City Main Park splash pad! Enjoy a picnic in the park and fun in the sun!The first 50 people will receive a prize!

Come and meet your local businesses and Riverton City staff. All Riverton businesses are invited to come and share information about their business and give out FREE STUFF! Free hotdogs, car show, bounce house, bike rodeo (by the Unified Police Department) and more. Leave you wallets at home, everything is FREE!

Halloween Bash & Kids' Carnival

It's time for the annual Halloween Bash and RHS Drill Team Carnival Fundraiser! Enjoy a kid's carnival, food, and more. Back by popular demand is the Search for the Great Pumpkin with lots of "pumpkin seeds" filled with toys and candy! Some activities will be outside so dress warm and don't forget to bring your flashlight. Come in your costume and get a prize!

Candy Cane Corner

 

Candy Cane Corner is an annual collaboration between The Road Home, Volunteers of America, Utah and YWCA Utah. Annually, these three organizations ask the community to help them provide a holiday shopping experience for the families they serve. Riverton City is an official drop-off location. All are welcome to donate new gifts at Riverton City Hall until December 11th. Click the link below to for the Wish List of what they are looking for.
