Riverton City's Water Department serves by providing safe and dependable supplies of potable water, as well as administering a secondary water system that provides a valued economic alternative to help keep our citizens lawns and City open spaces irrigated and green. Among its responsibilities, this department  takes care of the maintenance of distribution lines, wells, and storage tanks for the City.

As community members, you can all help keep our City healthy and hydrated by conserving this valuable resource. Stay water wise throughout the summer months and all year-long with water-saving tips.

Riverton City Retail Waterline Disclosure

A culinary retail water line is the pipe that extends between the water meter and the home. Culinary meters are located in the park strip area. Riverton City is responsible for the waterline on the street side up to and including the meter. The property owner is responsible for the water line between the meter and the home or business.
A secondary retail water line is the pipe that extends between the Stop-and-Waste valve located in the park strip area and the sprinkling system or the hose connection. Some residences will have a secondary meter in place of the Stop-and-Waste valve.

Riverton City is responsible on the street side up to and including the Stop-and-Waste valve or the secondary meter, whichever is the case. The property owner is responsible for the retail water line from the Stop-and-Waste valve or secondary meter into the property.
