Old Dome Meeting Hall
During the conception phase of the Riverton City Park reconstruction, City Leaders made the request that as part of the plan for this new development, Riverton’s heritage could somehow be reflected. Think Architecture responded with the idea to create an indoor pavilion that was patterned after one of the most iconic structures in the City’s history—The Old Dome Church.
Due to tough economic times, the original Old Dome Meeting Church took 10 years of construction before finally being completed. In 1908, it was finished and soon touted as “one of the finest ward meeting houses in the church”. A few decades later, the structure proved to be too difficult to heat and maintain, and was unfortunately demolished.
Today, The Old Dome Meeting Hall serves the entire Riverton community as a public home for historic display and cultural events, as well as a gathering place for special occasions.
**Building hours for public visits are Monday - Wednesday from 12-5 pm. Reservations are held Thursday-Saturday. If no reservations, hours are 12-5 pm on Thursday and Friday also.
