Riverton City has several municipal parks of varying sizes, including over thirty acres in a regional park facility adjacent to the downtown. The City also has several baseball fields, horse arenas, a rodeo facility, boweries and picnic areas.  Riverton hosts an outstanding County recreational complex which includes a public pool and an award winning eighteen hole golf course adjacent to the Jordan River. Following is a list of our parks and their amenities:

Jordan River Parkway

The Jordan River flows from Utah Lake into the Great Salt Lake and is approximately 44 miles in length. Over the past several years, committees, organizations and municipalities have begun to take advantage of the river’s corridor in developing a trail system running the length of the river. The vision of the Jordan River Parkway Trail is to connect the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake with a series of educational, recreational and scenic opportunities along the way. With the Jordan River comprising the eastern boundary of Riverton City, we too have been eager to take advantage of this valuable amenity both from a conservation and recreational standpoint.

Cemetery

Mowing season begins mid-April and runs through mid-September, Mondays and Thursdays. All winter decorations will be cleared and removed from the cemetery on April 1st. Any decorations that you would like saved should be picked up prior to this date and on Sundays throughout the season.

Any permanent decorations need to have a 6" concrete mow strip. Decorations without this mow strip will be removed.

To facilitate preparations for Memorial Day, decorations should not be put out before the preceding Friday before Memorial Day.

If you would like to talk to someone about the Riverton Cemetery, you may call 208-3139.
